Kawasaki is back in the big two-stroke fight.

The brand pulled the cover off the 2027 KX327 and KX327X, its first all-new two-stroke bigger than 250cc in more than 20 years. Both bikes share a new 327cc fuel-injected single, and both reach the US market in late 2026.
The split is simple. The KX327 is the motocross bike. The KX327X is the cross-country version, built for woods, rocks, and long technical trails.
What sets this apart from old two-strokes is the fuel injection. Kawasaki pairs a crankcase reed-valve intake with a 39mm throttle body and two injectors. According to Motorcycle.com’s breakdown of Kawasaki’s materials, the downstream injector handles low revs for cleaner fueling, then an upstream injector takes over higher up for harder acceleration. A new exhaust valve system widens the powerband. Kawasaki says the torque curve stays flat from ultra-low to mid rpm, so you hold momentum without chasing the throttle.
Old-school riders will like one detail: it still runs pre-mix, not oil injection. Kawasaki calls it a nostalgic touch.
The frame is an aluminum perimeter unit lifted from the KX450F. Claimed weight is 233.7 pounds, about 106 kg, which Kawasaki says puts it near a 250cc four-stroke. Suspension is KYB: a 48mm inverted coil-spring fork up front, a Uni-Trak rear out back. Nissin handles braking, with a 270mm front petal disc and a 240mm rear.
Both bikes get electric start, a hydraulic clutch, two ECU power maps switched from the left bar, and smartphone access through Rideology the App KX2 for settings, ride logs, and service reminders. There is no mention of traction control or a quickshifter.
The KX327X earns its extra letter with hardware. It moves to a six-speed gearbox over the KX327’s close-ratio five-speed, swaps in an 18-inch rear wheel, and adds a 2.2-gallon semi-transparent tank, skid plate, linkage guard, rear disc guard, hand guards, and a side stand.
Now the prices. In the US, the KX327 starts at USD 9,099 and the KX327X at USD 9,699. Direct conversion lands around PHP 561,000 and PHP 598,000, but that is raw math, not an official local SRP. Kawasaki Philippines has not announced either model, and competition off-road two-strokes rarely arrive here through official channels.
Here is the part that stings the rivals. The fuel-injected, electric-start KTM 300 XC sells for USD 11,849 and the Beta 300 RR Race for USD 11,590. Kawasaki undercuts both by a wide margin while matching the modern tech.
