Suzuki Burgman 150 Debuts in Colombia: Maxi-Scooter with ABS, TFT, and Traction Control

Listen to article

Suzuki just pulled the covers off the Burgman 150 in Colombia, and it looks like a proper step up from the Burgman Street 125 most of us know.

Suzuki Burgman 150

Sold locally as the “Burgman 15,” the scooter carries a genuine maxi-scooter layout: wide front apron, projector LED headlights with DRLs, a central spine running down the body, and 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It looks much more substantial than the Street 125, and it shows.

Powering it is a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine rated at 14.2 hp at 8,500 rpm and 14.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm. That is nearly double the output of the Burgman Street 125, which manages around 8.3 hp. It also comes with an idle stop-start system for better fuel efficiency.

Feature-wise, Suzuki loaded it well for this price range. You get a full-color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, keyless ignition, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, and switchable traction control on higher variants. Underseat storage sits at 25 liters, and there is an 18-watt USB-C charging port inside the left-side glove compartment. Fuel tank capacity is 8 liters, seat height is 760mm, and kerb weight lands at 145 kg.

The suspension setup is telescopic forks up front and dual rear shock absorbers. Traction control on a 150cc scooter is honestly not something you see often in this class, so that alone makes it stand out.

Here is the catch: no official Philippine launch has been announced. The Burgman 150 is currently sold exclusively in Colombia. For reference, the Colombian market price sits around USD 1,550, roughly PHP 87,000 at current rates. If Suzuki Philippines decides to bring it over, expect it to go up against the Honda ADV 150 and Yamaha Aerox 155, both of which are already established here.

Given how well the Burgman Street sold in other markets, a proper 150cc version with traction control and a TFT display could find real interest locally, especially for riders wanting a bit more scooter than the 125cc segment offers.

Suzuki Burgman 150 specs:

Would this make sense for the Philippine market? Or do you think the ADV 150 and Aerox 155 already cover this space well enough? Let us know in the comments.
