Honda has started testing its EV Fun Concept, the brand’s upcoming fully electric naked bike, on European roads. The motorcycle, still wearing camouflage, gives enthusiasts a first look at what Honda’s production-ready midsize EV might look like.
The design appears to borrow cues from the CB500 Hornet, with a sharp front end, a familiar light signature, bar-end mirrors, and a slim, sporty frame. A single-sided swingarm is also visible, adding to the sleek profile of the bike.

Once released, the EV Fun will become Honda’s first fully electric midsize naked motorcycle. Unlike Honda’s earlier electrified two-wheelers, which rely on swappable batteries, this model will debut a fixed battery pack that supports CCS2 automotive-grade charging. This should allow for faster charging compared to most current e-bikes and scooters.

The project is being led by Masatsugu Tanaka, a veteran Honda engineer who has worked on models such as the CBR600F, CBR600RR, CBR1000-RR Fireblade, VFR series, CRF1100L Africa Twin, and NT1100. Tanaka emphasized that the new model is being designed to deliver both the smoothness of an EV and the excitement expected from Honda’s sport bikes.
“We developed Honda’s first electric Fun model under the key concept of ‘Be the Wind,’” Tanaka said. “It offers a quiet and smooth ride unique to EVs, along with a sense of unity with the machine that can make riders feel like the wind.”

He added that Honda has conducted extensive testing in Europe, focusing on performance, charging, and day-to-day usability to ensure reliability and rider enjoyment.
With testing already underway, the EV Fun marks a significant step for Honda into the electric motorcycle market. The final production version could soon become one of the most anticipated entries in the midsize EV bike segment.
