Honda Philippines has updated the CBR500R lineup, now offering the middleweight sportbike in two variants. The Standard is priced at P400,000 while the new E-Clutch variant comes in at P415,000.

That’s a bump from the previous P389,000 sticker, but the big story here is the addition of Honda’s E-Clutch technology. It’s the same system first seen on the CBR650R, now trickling down to the 500cc class.

So what exactly is E-Clutch? Think of it as a computerized actuator that pulls the clutch for you every time you tap the gear lever. No stalling, no missed shifts. You can still use the clutch lever manually if you want, but you no longer have to. For riders who spend a lot of time in stop-and-go traffic, this is a genuinely useful addition.

Under the bodywork, the CBR500R keeps the same 471cc DOHC parallel-twin. Power output stays at 47 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The Fireblade-inspired fairing and aerodynamic winglets carry over from the 2024 refresh. New for 2026 is a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity for navigation and smartphone functions.

Worth noting: the CBR500R was offered at P60,000 off during Honda’s March 2026 promo run, dropping it to P329,000 temporarily. These are now the updated regular SRPs.

Honda CBR500R 2026 specs:

Price: Standard: P400,000 E-Clutch: P415,000

Available at Honda Big Bike dealerships nationwide.

The CBR500R has always sat in a solid spot between the beginner-friendly and the full-on middleweight category. With E-Clutch now on board, it becomes a more compelling pick for daily riders who don’t want to wrestle with the clutch in heavy Manila traffic.

For comparison, the Kawasaki Ninja 650 starts at P452,000, so the CBR500R still undercuts that bracket while adding semi-automatic tech.

Are you considering the Standard or would you spring the extra P15,000 for the E-Clutch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
