BMW Motorrad PH Issues Recall on R 1300 GS Adventure

BMW Motorrad Philippines has announced a recall of select R 1300 GS Adventure units equipped with the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), citing a possible defect in the clutch release lever.

According to SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the official distributor of BMW motorcycles in the country, an incorrect bolt may have been installed in the ASA clutch release lever. This issue could lead to unusual noise or clutch performance concerns over time.

The recall affects only motorcycles fitted with ASA, not all R 1300 GS Adventure models. Owners will be contacted by authorized service centers for inspection and replacement of the affected component. Riders can also verify if their motorcycle is included in the recall by checking their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the official BMW Motorrad website.

BMW Motorrad emphasized that the recall is a precautionary measure to ensure rider safety and maintain the reliability of its flagship adventure bike.
