The Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association, Inc. (MDPPA) has formally welcomed its new leaders for 2026 in an induction ceremony held at Hilton Manila, Pasay City, on February 3, 2026.

The event carried the theme “Moving Forward Beyond the Current Challenges, Sustaining Industry Leadership,” highlighting the group’s goal to keep the Philippine motorcycle industry strong, innovative, and resilient.

The ceremony’s keynote speaker was DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport and Non-Infrastructure Ramon G. Reyes, who also led the oath-taking of the 2026 executive board:
• Erwin D. Estrada (Honda Philippines, Inc.) – President
• Romeo B. Tan (Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc.) – Vice President
• Norminio C. Mojica (Suzuki Philippines, Inc.) – Treasurer
• Alexander A. Cumpas (Kawasaki Motor (Phils.) Corporation) – Auditor

New committee heads were also inducted:
• Toni Boi Acuesta (Yamaha) – Marketing
• Raymund Cristobal (Honda) – Road Safety
• Richard Paul Natividad (Kawasaki) – Technical
• Atty. Ricardo Brazal (Suzuki) – Government
• Gilmar de Castro (MDPPA) – Research and Planning
Outgoing president Alexander A. Cumpas looked back on the association’s gains in 2024–2025, saying these achievements were made possible by the united efforts of all member manufacturers and now serve as a guide for the group’s future plans.
In his welcome message, 2026 treasurer Norminio Mojica said the induction shows the strong resolve of the association, coming from a record-breaking 2025 where MDPPA member brands achieved unprecedented sales and now look ahead to another promising year for the motorcycle industry.
New president Erwin Estrada presented MDPPA’s 2026 roadmap that focus on active involvement in international policy and rule-making, stronger road safety programs, expanding membership and raising MDPPA’s public presence.
He stressed that with the continued support of member companies, cooperation with government agencies, and the trust of the public, the association aims to further uplift the industry and help bring safe, comfortable mobility to Filipino families.
Estrada also announced that MDPPA will strengthen its ties with both local and international automotive groups, including hosting the prestigious FAMI Conference in the first quarter of 2026.
The induction was attended by government officials, presidents and key officers of MDPPA member companies, and members of the motorcycle media.
MDPPA is an association of the country’s leading motorcycle manufacturers—Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha—working together on issues such as road safety, regulatory compliance, environmental protection, technology, and innovation through consultation and coordination with different stakeholders.
One of its recent programs is the Tropang MAALAM (Tropang Modelo, Alerto, Aktibo, Ligtas, Aalalay, at Matalino) campaign, which promotes rider safety through education, awareness, and training.
