Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced a multi-year partnership with Prima Pramac Racing. Starting in 2025, Prima Pramac Racing will become Yamaha’s ‘second Factory Team,’ operating independently while receiving factory-spec Yamaha YZR-M1 bikes and support from Yamaha’s engineering staff.

Partnership Details

  • New Team Structure: Prima Pramac Racing will remain independently owned but receive full factory support from Yamaha.
  • Factory Spec Bikes: The team will race with Yamaha YZR-M1 bikes, identical to those used by the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.
  • Shared Goals: The partnership aims to enhance bike development and competitive presence, with four Yamaha riders on the MotoGP grid.
  • Future Projects: Includes a Moto2 program to develop future MotoGP talents.

“These are busy times for Yamaha. Our new partnership with Prima Pramac Racing marks a significant step forward. By providing them with factory bikes, we aim to accelerate bike development and strengthen our position in MotoGP. We deeply appreciate the trust of Paolo Campinoti and Gino Borsoi and are committed to making this partnership successful.” – Lin Jarvis, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing
