Hero MotoCorp has officially launched its first-ever adventure-style maxi-scooter, the Hero Xoom 160, after making waves at EICMA 2024 and the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
Designed to go head-to-head with the Honda ADV160, this new offering brings a rugged yet sporty aesthetic, practical features, and a capable engine to the growing adventure scooter category.
At first glance, the Xoom 160 looks every bit like an ADV scooter, with its sharp, angular bodywork, LED lighting, and tall stance—definitely a step up from Hero’s usual commuter lineup.
Under the hood, it packs a 156cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 14HP at 8,000 RPM and 13.7Nm torque at 6,500 RPM, paired with a CVT transmission.
What makes it interesting is its feature-packed setup. It gets keyless ignition, a full digital instrument panel with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and single-channel ABS.
For suspension, it rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks.
Adventure scooters are gaining traction in the Philippines, especially with the popularity of the Honda ADV160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. If Hero decides to bring the Xoom 160 to the country, it could be an appealing option for riders looking for something fresh, rugged, and feature-packed—without breaking the bank.
The Xoom 160 is currently priced at INR 1.48 lakh (~PHP 103,000) in India, making it a solid budget alternative to the ADV160 if Hero manages to keep the pricing competitive in the PH market.
For now, no word yet on international availability—but would you consider the Hero Xoom 160 if it arrives in the Philippines? Let us know your thoughts!
