KTM has launched their most exclusive limited-run motorcycle to date with the 2024 RC 8C. Only 100 examples of this dedicated track weapon will be hand-built worldwide. At the heart of the RC 8C is an 889cc parallel-twin engine producing an impressive 135 horsepower. Weighing just 142kg dry, this equates to a near one-to-one power-to-weight ratio.
Such a figure promises immense performance potential on track. But the RC 8C back up these credentials with serious racing components and engineering. It sits on a bespoke 25CrMo4 steel tubular frame designed solely for circuit use. Suspension duties are handled by top-spec WP APEX PRO units with remote preload adjustability for the rear. This allows experienced riders to perfectly tune the suspension for individual track characteristics and riding styles.
Braking is provided by radial Brembo master cylinders and Stylema calipers. These clamp onto large-diameter fully floating discs for strong, controllable braking performance when hammering around bends at race pace. Helping monitor this are some notable features – an AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard fitted as standard. With built-in GPS, it can record lap times, speeds, braking points, g-forces and more to analyze sessions.
The RC 8C is finished with an array of lightweight racing components. This includes a quick-release tank and bodywork for easy maintenance. Dymag aluminum wheels reduce unsprung mass. Pirelli Diablo race slicks provide maximum grip. An Akrapovič titanium exhaust system saves weight while emitting a throaty track-tuned snarl. Pre-orders for the RC 8C open on March 20th 2024 at 3PM CET, exclusively via the KTM website.
Those who order will have the unique opportunity to take delivery of their motorcycle at a special event in Portimão, Portugal. Scheduled for October 2024, it includes a private track session to setup the RC 8C. Buyers can also enjoy a gala dinner with KTM racers, and experience hot laps of the Portimão circuit in a KTM X-BOW race car.
