Grab Philippines has rolled out new safety features aimed at enhancing the security of its passengers. One of the key updates is the introduction of Audio Protect, which allows passengers to record audio during their trips. The recorded audio is stored in Grab’s database and will only be accessed in case of disputes.
Grab is also integrating artificial intelligence to monitor and detect potential risks throughout the ride. Additionally, the app has introduced Driver Selfie Verification, requiring drivers to take random selfies during the day to ensure that only registered drivers are operating vehicles.
These new features add to Grab’s existing security measures, such as the SOS emergency button, real-time trip monitoring, and the ability for passengers to share ride details with trusted contacts. According to EJ dela Vega, Grab Philippines’ head of mobility, the company is committed to continuously enhancing the safety of its platform.
