Yamaha just launched their newest BOOSTER ebikes and Yamaha is expanding its Urban Mobility range with the launch of two new electric models: the BOOSTER Easy eBike and the BOOSTER S-pedelec. These additions emphasize Yamaha’s commitment to becoming a major player in the European 2-wheel EV market, as part of their Switch ON strategy initiated in 2022.
Yamaha BOOSTER 2023 Features
Yamaha, a pioneer in eBike production since 1993, aims to become a carbon-neutral manufacturer by 2035.
Now the BOOSTER Easy eBike and BOOSTER S-pedelec have been developed to cater to the growing demand for clean, quiet, and accessible urban transport in Europe. They feature a rugged and timeless chassis design, with a two-tone teal and metal grey color scheme and are powered by a Yamaha drive unit.
The main difference between the two models is their performance: the BOOSTER Easy has a maximum pedal-assisted speed of 25 km/h, while the BOOSTER S-pedelec reaches 45 km/h, requiring an AM license in Europe.
Both models sport a contemporary and minimalistic design with an exposed diecast aluminum front frame, spoked wheels with fat 20″ x 4″ tires, and a classic U-frame configuration. They come equipped with Yamaha-exclusive body components and a 630Wh 36V battery. The BOOSTER models are designed to offer comfortable and agile urban mobility, with excellent grip on various road surfaces, adjustable seat height, and smooth front suspension.
Yamaha’s PW series S2 drive unit powers the BOOSTER models, boasting one of the highest torque-to-weight ratios in its class. It offers seamless power delivery, instant assistance with Zero Cadence technology, and Automatic Support Mode for added power when needed. Riders can also choose Zero Mode for pedal-only power and Walk Assist Mode for easier pushing in pedestrian-only zones.
The BOOSTER Easy has a range of 60-120 km, depending on the mode selected, while the BOOSTER S-pedelec offers a range of 50-110 km. Both models will be available in Cyan Solid Aqua and Dark Grey Metallic colors.
Deliveries are set to begin in April 2023 for the BOOSTER Easy and June 2023 for the BOOSTER S-pedelec. No words yet if Yamaha will bring this to other countries like ASIA.
But what do you think? Should Yamaha Bring the BOOSTER eBikes to ASIA or even to the Philippines? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
