Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc., part of the Ayala Group, and Zero Motorcycles of California have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for collaboration on the production electric motorcycles in Philippines.
Zero Motorcycles is leading the establishment of the first electronic vehicle manufacturing facility in the Philippines. IMI will assemble Zero’s electric bike models and other assemblies at its Laguna facility, in conjunction with Zero California’s manufacturing facilities.
The partnership will employ 200 people and produce and ship 18,000 electric bikes annually. With a projected USD 65 million investment, the project will also support the country’s development of its electric vehicle ecosystem. Zero Motorcycles will make its electric bikes available through AC Industrials in 2024.
