Yamaha just lifted the curtain on the 2025 YZF-R9, and it’s clear they’re redefining the mid-weight sportbike game. This beast packs an 889cc 3-cylinder CP3 engine, so you get 119 PS at 10,000 rpm and a torque boost of 93 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
Not just power—this engine is all about refined control. Plus, Yamaha’s electronic fuel injection system provides throttle precision.
It has the aluminum Deltabox frame keeps things light but rigid, pairing with a fully adjustable KYB inverted fork up front and a KYB monoshock in the rear.
You can’t ignore the braking setup either: dual 298mm front discs with radial-mount calipers and a 245mm rear disc, all backed by lean-sensitive ABS.
Yamaha also tossed in a six-axis IMU, adding layers of rider aids like traction control, slide control, and lift control.
If you’re into customizing your ride, this YZF-R9 has it all—three distinct riding modes to match your mood, plus a Quick Shift System for smoother shifts both up and down.
The display is a sleek 4.2-inch TFT screen, giving you a snapshot of everything you need in one glance, from ride modes to speed. And they didn’t forget about aesthetics either. LED twin-eye headlights and DRLs make sure you’re seen while keeping that Yamaha R-series signature look.
The price of Yamha YZF-R9 starts at $12,499 (approx. PHP 710,000), based on current exchange rates. No words yet when will this be available in the Philippines.
